Andy Morris, the legend of the Chesterfield FC cup run in 1997, and scorer of CFC's first goal at Old Trafford, started running boys teams from Chesterfield FC's Football in the Community in 2002.
Chesterfield Junior Blues Football Club was formed from Andy's work in summer 2005 and we ran six boys football teams in the Rowsley and District League, two winning their leagues and three reaching their cup finals. Andy is now Head Coach at CJBFC.
We are an FA Charter Standard Club which means we have passed the test set out by the FA for a well run, high quality, Club with all our coaches qualified by the FA. We follow the FA Respect programme and operate to the FA codes of conduct for coaches, players, team officials and parents and spectators. If you would like to see out Handbook which sets these out, together with out other policies and constitution, please us the Contact page to request a copy.
We expect to run about nine teams in season 2010/11 in three different leagues. We aim to build on that success whilst making the development of all our players our first objective. That means we only add teams to our Club when we have the coaches and other support necessary. For the older age groups playing competitive matches is part of football but for all out teams development and enjoyment are the first priority. Because our catchment area is within Chesterfield and surrounding areas, the teams play their home matches and train at a variety of grounds in the area and some of the younger teams plays at Matlock. We regularly have players going to Chesterfield FC Centre of Excellence and academies with other professional clubs, we encourage players keen to take that opportunity, to do so. Our aim is to provide a first class, safe, and enjoyable environment for our players. All our coaches, managers and committee members are coaches trained at least at FA Level 1, some are learning at Level 2, Andy is at Level 3, and all have emergency aid and child protection training. All have been CRB Checked
