Andy Morris, the legend of the Chesterfield FC cup run in 1997, and scorer of CFC's first goal at Old Trafford, started running boys teams from Chesterfield FC's Football in the Community in 2002.
Chesterfield Junior Blues Football Club was formed from Andy's work in summer 2005 and we ran six boys football teams in the Rowsley and District League, two winning their leagues and three reaching their cup finals.
We operate to the FA codes of conduct for coaches, players, team officials and parents and spectators. If you would like to see our handbook which sets these out, together with our other policies and constitution, please use the Contact Page to request a copy.
We have grown quickly since then. In season 2006/07 we had over 120 registered players in ten teams in the Rowsley and Sheffield and District Leagues, and in 2008/09 wen also competed in the Derby league as well. Last season, three teams won their respective leagues and two got to their cup finals. We aim to build on that success whilst making the development of all our players our first objective. Because our catchment area is within Chesterfield and surrounding areas, the teams play their home matches and train at a variety of grounds in the area and some teams plays at Matlock. We regularly have players going to Derby, Sheffield Utd and Chesterfield Centre of Excellence's and regularly send boys to the centres for coaching.
Our aim is to provide a first class, safe, and enjoyable environment for our players. All our coaches, managers and committee members are trained at least to FA level 1, some are at level 2, and all have emergency aid and child protection training. All have been CRB checked.
